Blog Entry: It was a great first date as far as any standard went.  Good conversation, no awkward silences, and the good night kiss could not have been more perfect.  A week later you still haven't received a call.  You exchanged numbers...but what's the protocol?You waited the normal three days for his call but it didn't come.  You wonder if he's waiting for your call, but isn't he supposed to go call? So a week later you wonder what went wrong.  Did you have something stuck in your teeth you didn't know about?  Did your story about that one time in college have some everlasting impression or open some emotional wound for him you didn't know existed?Well here's something you probably didn't know existed:  The Game.  It's a book for guys written by a pick-up artist, you may have seen the reality show, to teach them how to get girls.  I have read this book, and it makes some valid points.  It's a great tool for men who little or no confidence to better themselves.  It actually has a decent amount of self-reflection and could be a good benefit.  Here's the problem, there are rules for guys.  There is a part two which comes in a package so we ladies can't just stroll in and start reading.  Let me tell you what's in this secret book.  A 30 day guide to getting a girl.  Men are asked to not read ahead in the book, to just follow day by day.Overall, not a bad concept.  Women have a great deal of self-help offered to them while men are limited; it's only fair.  So if he hasn't called you in a week, you can relax.  The Game suggests that men should wait as long as possible to call.  I say the buck stops at a week.  On day 8, send a text; simple.  "Been busy, sorry I haven't called, movie next week?"  Now if he's trying to play a game you just put him in his place by saying you were too busy for him.  If he really just kept picking up the phone to call you and only got four digits punched in before hanging up, it's an ice breaker.  You also waited 8 days so you won't come off as needy or clingy.  If you called him incessantly the day after...you're not allowed to wonder why he's not calling...you're also banned from dating for a month.
